Prepare to drop the needle on some classic gaming tunes! Join superstar saxophonist and singer Grace Kelly for a special, high-energy jam session at TCAN celebrating iconic video game music.

To kick off the event, Grace will start by performing a couple of songs she recorded with the Grammy Award-winning Charlie Rosen and The 8-Bit Big Band!

The session itself will be led by Grace’s acclaimed bassist and Grammy-nominated musician, Dr. James Heazlewood-Dale. This is a significant bonus for VGM enthusiasts: Dr. Heazlewood-Dale holds a Ph.D. in Ludomusicology and teaches popular courses on video game music at Brandeis University. His expertise ensures this jam will be an insightful and engaging experience!

This unique VGM jam is part of Grace Kelly’s exciting return to TCAN, which includes three performances, including a Saturday family matinee. Grace is a serious contender in the VGM world herself, having been a guest performer with the 8-Bit Big Band and contributing music (with her band, 2Saxy) to the immensely popular game Fortnite. Most recently, she was featured on “Shovel Knight Live,” a touring concert celebrating Jake Kaufman’s music.

Ready to Jam?

Don’t worry about “knowing” the songs—that’s what we’re here for! A list of VGM tunes and digital lead sheets will be distributed before the jam. VGM jam sessions are made possible thanks to VGLeadSheets, the “Real Book” for video game music, and physical copies will be available at the venue.

Simply bring your instrument and your enthusiasm! We encourage musicians of all backgrounds and instruments to come down.
