As the keyboardist for the legendary Boston band and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, The Cars, Greg Hawkes forged the sound of rock’s New Wave. Pioneering and pushing the limits of technology and sequencing of the late ’70s and early ’80s, Greg cemented the synthesizer’s place in rock and pop music, and his contribution has influenced countless artists and bands since.
In 2016, Greg collaborated with Boston’s acclaimed Eddie Japan to produce their 2017 album ‘Golden Age’. This led to Greg joining Eddie Japan to perform “Moving in Stereo”, “Bye, Bye Love”, and “Let’s Go” and a few surprise cover songs at multiple Eddie Japan shows in 2017, 2018 and 2019 ultimately led to the two joining forces to create a full night of music by The Cars featuring a set list curated by Greg.
