Join Opera del West for a comic one-act opera and songs about singing, singers, and music.  Pasatieri’s La Divina is about an aging diva preparing for her final performance, with the help of her exasperated Manager, Personal Assistant, and Conductor.  These roles will be sung by Julia Pottinger and Lucas Hickman from OdW’s recent production of La Clemenza di Tito, Christine Sinacola from many OdW shows including The Marriage of Figaro, and OdW newbie Juan Suarez.  Additional selections from the works of Thomas Pasatieri, one of our favorite living composers, having written The Seagull and Signor Deluso. With Stage Direction by Alyssa Weathersby and Musical Direction by Eve Budnick.

About Opera del West

Opera need not be opulent to be marvelous. Opera del West, helmed by founder and Musical Director Eve Budnick, brings fully staged—if fringe—opera to the MetroWest area of Massachusetts and provides a space for young professional singers to tackle exciting roles. Now celebrating its 18th year as a company, Opera del West was started by Eve Budnick and Rebecca Grimes in 2006 with a mission to bring fully staged operas to the MetroWest suburbs, featuring singers who had finished their graduate degrees at the many conservatories located in Boston. Eve holds a bachelor’s degree in musicology from Princeton University, a master’s degree in vocal accompaniment from Boston University, and a graduate diploma in collaborative piano from New England Conservatory.
