David Lavalley

Executive Director

David worked as a TCAN volunteer beginning in 2003, helping create an early website for TCAN and for awhile, running the Rock Off Main program for teen bands. Since his appointment as Executive Director at TCAN in 2004, the organization has become the region’s leading performing arts organization with an exponential increase in attendance, program revenue and contributions, and two successful capital campaigns. Music and theater have always played an important role in his life, as an actor in student productions and community theater, or a rock musician performing on the Boston music scene since the 1970’s.

Much of David’s early career was spent during his 25-year run at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he managed business operations for its Personal Computer and Storage Systems businesses. His decision to leave high tech was driven by a desire to do something that reflected his personal passion for the arts, while making a greater impact on the community.
