All of us at TCAN are extremely proud to announce that two recent productions by the TCAN Players have been nominated by the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theatre (EMACT) with seven nominations in the 2025 DASH Awards. DASH (Distinguished Achievement and Special Honors) is a year-end awards program sponsored by EMACT as a way of recognizing outstanding performance and production values as displayed by its member groups during the community theater season.
The Revolutionists, a production presented in November of 2024 was nominated for 5 DASH Awards including:
- Best Play – The Revolutionists, TCAN Players directed by Alison Walters-Short
- Best Cast – Liz Ruark, Victoria Lee, Emily Grove, Thalia Ruark
- Best Costume, Play – Donna Roessler
- Best Hair/Makeup, Play – Jane Willshire
- Best Specialty Ensemble – Liz Ruark, Victoria Lee, Emily Grove, Thalia Ruark
And Then There Were None, a production presented in June of 2025 was nominated for 2 DASH Awards including:
- Supporting Performer in a Play, Drama – Pamela Schweppe
- Best Hair/Makeup, Musical – Kristin Fehlau and Jane Willshire Tempesta
We want to extend our hearty congratulations to the cast of both productions and the TCAN Players for this accomplishment! We also wish to thank and congratulate all the talented cast members and crew who worked to stage these incredible productions – congratulations to all!
The TCAN Players next production is PUFFS, or, Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, directed by Danielle Woods with performances scheduled for November 7-16, 2025. The play is a hilarious parody of the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling, but from the perspective of the “Puffs” – that is, members of the Hogwarts house “Hufflepuff.”
