The Center for Arts in Natick (TCAN) is proud to unveil an exciting transformation under the banner “Illuminate: The New TCAN”. This dynamic revitalization, made possible by generous capital donations through our “TCAN – The Next Stage Campaign” in 2023-2024, will bring several significant enhancements to the historic firehouse venue, ensuring a superior experience for both performers and audiences.

Key Improvements Include:

  1. New Seating (Coming November 2024): Replacement of all 275 seats in the mainstage venue with more comfortable upholstered chairs, featuring retractable seat cushions.
  2. State-of-the-Art Stage Lighting (Coming Fall 2024): An enhanced stage lighting package that will replace all incandescent fixtures with cutting-edge digital LED fixtures, enhancing the visual experience.
  3. Advanced Projection System (Coming Fall 2024): A video projection system for mainstage events that includes two retractable screens and projectors, allowing for dynamic video and slide presentations.
  4. Enhanced Performance Stage (Coming August 2024): A safer, and more stable stage that offers improved sightlines for our audience, and simplified relocation of the grand piano on and off stage as needed.
  5. Upgraded Green Room (Coming Fall 2025): Renovation of the artist’s Green Room with new amenities providing a more comfortable experience for touring artists.
  6. Modern Electrical Hookups (Coming August 2024): Installation of electrical hookups for artist tour buses and charging stations for electric vehicles, supporting sustainable practices.

“Our community has always been at the heart of everything we do,” said David Lavalley, Executive Director of TCAN. “Thanks to their support, the strength of our recovery from the pandemic, and the success of our “The Next Stage Campaign” capital fundraising efforts, we have great momentum as we move into the future. With ‘Illuminate: The New TCAN’, we are not only preserving the rich history of our venue but also embracing the future with open arms. These upgrades will significantly enhance the quality of our performances and the overall experience for artists, patrons and everyone who walks through our doors.”
